QOTD: The Miraculous Scope of Human Generosity

quote thank you elizabeth gilbert

This beautiful notion is written in Elizabeth Gilbert’s “Thank yous” in the end of Eat Pray Love.

Winding down my time here in Rome, I am finding myself reflecting on the beautiful people I have met here who have touched my life.  I came here knowing no one, and I am leaving with my heart full of love for the family I found here which welcomed me with open arms, the children who captured my heart, the like-minded travelers and expats who made lasting impressions on me, and for the family and friends (my chosen family) with whom I have become even closer to back home as we grow and evolve and support each other no matter where we are in the world.  These people truly have sustained me.  I try to do the same for them, but in the meantime let me say:

I am filled with gratitude for each one of you beautiful humans’ support, your love, your kind words, your generosity of spirit, your patience, your humor, your wisdom, your openness, your compassion, and your honesty.

My life is richer because of you. From the bottom of my heart,

thank you,

thank you,

thank you.

xx Katie
